(ATLANTA) – FirstKey Homes announced today it has launched a fleet of 126 hybrid vehicles across its entire 29-market footprint. The company initially piloted a hybrid fleet program that provided vehicles to construction superintendents and resident coordinators — which quickly showed potential to reduce FirstKey Homes’ carbon footprint.  The program was eventually expanded to every employee who drives more than 5,000 miles a year on both the construction and property operations teams.

“By equipping our employees with hybrid vehicles, we not only prioritize our commitment to environmental responsibility but also foster a culture of sustainability,” said Alex Horwitz, Vice President of Media and Public Relations at FirstKey Homes. “These hybrid vehicles seamlessly blend the benefits of electric and traditional combustion engines, resulting in reduced fuel consumption, lower emissions, and a decreased carbon footprint.”

The program also benefits residents of FirstKey Homes. As part of the fleet inventory initiative, the company developed a process improvement plan to track and replenish service vehicles with the products and tools used most often when servicing homes. This initiative has greatly reduced the number of trips that technicians make to the hardware store, meaning less fuel consumption, faster response time, and a reduced total time of repair, resulting in increased resident satisfaction.

With the successful implementation of the hybrid vehicle program, FirstKey Homes continues to showcase its dedication to sustainable practices while providing employees with the means to make a positive environmental impact.
