FirstKey Homes to Sponsor Annual Ride for the Westside
(ATLANTA) – FirstKey Homes announced today it is sponsoring the third Annual Ride for the Westside in support of the Westside Future Fund (WFF). The event takes place Saturday, September 28th from 8 a.m. to noon at Westside Future Fund’s campus, located at 970 Jefferson Street NW.
The celebration includes a day of running, walking, biking, and community spirit. Registration is now open. Ride for the Westside will consist of an 11-mile bike loop, a 5K run, a Peachtree Road Race qualifier, and a Heritage Walk highlighting historic landmarks, community gathering spots, and local businesses.
“We are grateful to FirstKey Homes and their sponsorship of this year’s annual Ride for the Westside,” said Mariel Hicks, development officer at the Westside Future Fund. “The funds raised through this event will help to bring long-term affordable housing and economic opportunity to the Historic Westside community.”
WFF is a place-based organization whose work is uniquely inspired by the needs of the historic Westside neighborhoods. It serves English Avenue, Vine City, Ashview Heights, Atlanta University Center, and Just Us. The organization uses a compassionate and equitable approach to holistic neighborhood revitalization with the goal of restoring these legacy neighborhoods to a thriving mixed-income community.
Proceeds will also benefit Quest CDC, whose focus is to create resilient communities and foster social equity through collaboration and service integration, focusing on developing affordable and supportive housing for formerly homeless and extremely low-income residents in metro Atlanta.
